The conditions of work may involveexposure to communicable diseases, hazards of radiation, and injury fromintractable patients or sharp instruments.ShiftHours are variable between days, evenings, nights with some weekend and holiday requirements. Preferred candidates will be able to work a variety of shifts. This position requires the ability to do orientation of up to 40 hours per week on any shift for the first 6 to 8 weeks of employment. This position will also require that the employee float between UK Chandler and Good Samaritan.Must work 60 Hours per 6 weeks schedule.Job SummaryThe Nursing Care Technician in the Per Diem pool is a member of the team who is responsible for patient care, patient satisfaction and clinical outcomes. The NCT performs the duties for which they are trained, including providingcomfort measures for the patient and notifying the RN when any change in the patient’s condition occurs. This position cover units at Chandler and Samaritan.Skills / Knowledge / AbilitiesPrevious experience as a nursing care tech strongly preferred.Good communication skills, dependabilityDoes this position have supervisory responsibilities? NoPreferred Education/ExperiencePrevious experience as a NCT preferred, or completion of Fundamentals of Nursing Class/Clinical.
