Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in counseling, psychology, social work, sociology, human services, or a closely related field
Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in public safety, mental health counseling, crisis intervention, substance abuse counseling, or a closely related field
Note: An equivalent combination of related training and experience may be considered
Possess and maintain a valid Nevada or "border state" driver's license, as defined by NRS 483
Must obtain and maintain a certificate in individual and group CISM within six (6) months of hire as a condition of continued employment
Desirable: Certified Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor (CADC) or above Substance Abuse Counselor in the State of Nevada
Desirable: An appropriate license to practice as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor
Desirable: Certification for treatment of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) or Post-Traumatic Stress Injury (PTSI)
