Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Plant Accountant to join our finance team. The Plant Accountant will be responsible for managing the financial operations of our manufacturing plant(s), including cost accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls. This position requires management skills, as it includes responsibility for a direct report. This role is critical to ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the plant(s) financial data and supporting the overall financial health of the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams. They will play a key role in providing financial insights and recommendations to management to drive cost efficiency, operational improvements, and strategic decision-making. The Plant Accountant will also collaborate with finance leadership and other departments to ensure alignment with overall company financial goals and compliance with accounting standards.For Consideration please contact Scott Dennis at 513-835-2080Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements for the plant.Cost Accounting: Monitor and analyze production costs, inventory valuation, and cost of goods sold (COGS). Provide insights and recommendations to improve cost efficiency and profitability.Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development of annual budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis. Track performance against financial targets and provide regular updates to management.Month-End and Year-End Close: Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial reporting.Project Management. Support and lead various projects.Inventory Management: Oversee inventory accounting, including monitoring inventory levels, reconciling inventory accounts, and analyzing inventory variances. Implement best practices to improve inventory management processes.Internal Controls: Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets, ensure compliance with policies and procedures, and support audit requirements.Capital Expenditure Analysis: Evaluate capital expenditure proposals, track capital spending, and assess the return on investment (ROI) for capital projects.Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support decision-making, such as profitability analysis, pricing strategies, and cost reduction initiatives.Tax Compliance: Coordinate with tax professionals to ensure compliance with tax regulations, prepare tax filings, and support tax planning initiatives.Financial Systems and Processes: Maintain and improve financial systems, processes, and controls to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and data integrity.Ad Hoc Projects: Participate in special projects, initiatives, and process improvements to drive operational and financial efficiencies within the plant.Requirements Qualifications:· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.· CPA or CMA certification preferred.· 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.· Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and practices.· Proficient in financial reporting and analysis.· Experience with ERP systems and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.· Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.· Strong attention to detail and accuracy.· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
