Sanitation Supervisor- 3rd shift

This is a 3rd shift role (10:00pm-6:30am)Our Food Manufacturing client in Buckner is looking for a frontline leader with solid leadership and communication skills and enjoys working with a great team! Opening is on third shift.

Position Summary:Responsible for sanitation requirements for machinery, equipment, and facilities. Develops and maintains plant sanitation programs and procedures. Collaborates with engineers, suppliers, contractors, and plant partners to ensure a clean and sterile facility. Assures compliance with regulatory agencies in regard to sanitation requirements and the use of cleaning and exterminating agents. Responsible for managing and owning various functions of the business and creating an engaged and team oriented work force in order to improve business results.

Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develops, implements, and manages the sanitation programs.
  • Supervises the cleaning and sanitation of the plant.
  • Conducts physical inspections of equipment to evaluate effectiveness of sanitation efforts.
  • Develop and administer an employee training program for sanitation technicians and general plant personnel.
  • Communicates job duties to sanitation personnel.
  • Enforce proper and accurate documentation of all sanitation forms.
  • Oversee contractor and/or vendor resources for sanitation and pest control.
  • Maintain proper type and quantity of sanitation and water treatment chemicals.
  • Maintain good communication with all departments. Give guidance and feedback to all departments with regard to plant sanitary conditions.
  • Ensure safety incidents are reported within the timeframes allowed.
  • Monitor and affect sanitation activity to ensure Frozen Foods meets or exceeds required customer and regulatory requirements.
  • 3 leads and about 24 techs will roll-up (report) to the Sanitation Supervisor

Knowledge and Critical Skill Requirements:
  • Basic Microbiology and knowledge of the microbial ecology of refrigerated and / or ready to eat processing facilities.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, which enable this person to communicate with a wide range of people from the cleaning crews to top management.
  • Technical knowledge of COP and CIP cleaning processes, sanitation chemicals, sanitation equipment, and sanitary design of food processing equipment.
  • BS degree preferred in microbiology, chemistry, food science, or meat science, or equivalent years of experience and training.
  • Minimum one year related experience
  • Familiarity with Regulatory / USDA requirements.
