Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Horizontal Directional Driller to operate HDD rigs for underground utility installation projects. This position involves running Ditch Witch or Vermeer drills to complete bores for water, sewer, gas, and communication lines. The ideal candidate is dependable, experienced with HDD operations, and willing to work in demanding outdoor environments.
Responsibilities:
- Operate Ditch Witch or Vermeer horizontal directional drills to complete pilot holes, reaming, and pipe pullbacks.
- Read and follow bore plans, adjusting equipment and drill path as needed.
- Conduct daily equipment checks, basic maintenance, and ensure safe operation of rigs and support vehicles.
- Collaborate with the locating crew and assist with general site or shop tasks when needed.
Requirements:
- Proven experience operating Ditch Witch and/or Vermeer HDD equipment.
- Strong understanding of HDD methods, job site safety, and soil conditions.
- CDL Class A preferred; Class B acceptable.
- Must be reliable, adaptable, and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Fluent English communication required.
