Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Security Network Engineer in Savannah, Georgia. This role involves managing network and network security devices, analyzing network packet traces, and implementing network security systems to safeguard against malicious activity or policy violations. The position is within the technology industry and the daily operations will be conducted in a standard office setting.Responsibilities: Manage and support an enterprise network including network security devices such as firewalls, proxies, and Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS) Conduct detailed analysis of network packet traces (PCAP), Fiddler Logs, and Http/Https Headers Implement and maintain network security systems and Intrusion detection systems to prevent malicious activity or policy violations Familiarize with networking protocols including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP, HTTPS, AD, Static, Dynamic Routing, OSI Model Utilize knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP to ensure network reliability and efficient IP address allocation Convert domain names into IP addresses using DNS Apply understanding of the open systems interconnection (OSI) model to enable diverse communication systems to communicate using standard protocols Use Checkpoint Firewall and Configuration Management skills to enhance network safety Monitor Network Security and employ Network Security Monitoring tools effectively Leverage skills in Information - Network Security and Cybersecurity compliance to ensure secure network operations Requirements Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience as a Security Network Engineer. Proficiency in Checkpoint Firewall and Configuration Management is essential. Demonstrable expertise in Network Security and Network Security Monitoring. Familiarity with IPS and Packet Tracer required. Proven knowledge in Information Network Security and TCP/IP Networking. Proficiency in TCP/IP Protocol, TCP/IP, and DNS is necessary. Experience with DNS Domain Name System and OSI Model is a plus. Familiarity with SD-WAN and Cisco Security is beneficial. Cyber Security skills are essential, including Cyber Security Engineering, Cyber Security Policies, and Cyber Security Standards. Must be well-versed with Cybersecurity Compliance and Cyber Security Strategy.
