Description:
- Develop sheet metal flat patterns by analyzing prints; calculating material requirements; and determining and executing appropriate methods to fabricate parts.
- Select materials by studying specifications and component parts.
- Safely fabricate components by using equipment to cut, form, and fasten pieces.
- Set-up saws, and operate shears, drills, and other equipment and tools required in a safe and efficient fashion in compliance with OSHA regulations and Company guidelines.
- Maintain safe work environment by monitoring the safety of equipment and following established procedures while complying with all legal and Company regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in light-gage sheet metal fabrication using steel, stainless steel, brass, aluminum materials, etc
- Welding skills, especially processing aluminum, desired but not required.
- Familiarity and experience with metal finishing techniques and metal finishing equipment.
- Ability to read and perform basic math as it applies to metal fabrication.
- Competent in interpreting metal fabrication production orders, patterns, and method layouts.
- High School diploma/equivalent. Familiar with all metal fabrication safety procedures. One year of vocational training in fabricating sheet metal or related field, or two years fabrication and/or welding experience.
