Cell phone allowance - $35 per pay period - $910.00 annually

Clothing allowance (jeans, shirts, jackets, winter gear) - $390.00 annually

Boot allowance - $175.00 annually

Personal protective equipment - City issued

This is an apprentice level position to working technical position in the Facilities Division. Under the general supervision of the Parks Supervisor this position performs preventative and predictive maintenance and repair of swimming pools, play equipment, walking paths, fountains, bridges, athletic facilities, fences, and other non-ground or turf-related items within the City-s park system and includes the operation of major equipment.Key Responsibilities:

Operates City vehicles, powered equipment, and hand tools.

Constructs and builds structures and other park amenities.

Plumbing: Installs, diagnoses and repairs fixtures, piping, sewage and potable water, treatment systems, etc.

Electrical: Diagnoses and repairs fixtures, wiring, motor starters, lamps, switches, and receptacles.

General Construction and Maintenance: Performs repairs related to carpentry, painting, concrete, dry wall, appliance maintenance, floor covering, etc.

Appliances: Diagnoses, repairs, and installs.

Updates work orders, hours, and repair information daily.

Performs containment and removal of ice/snow from facility walkways and public access areas.

Responds for snow and ice removal and other emergencies including weekends, before and after hours, and holidays.

Monitors and operates high-rate sand filter systems and controls.

Monitors and operates Pulsar chemical systems, controls, and testing equipment.

May lead seasonal workers, overseeing and coordinating work.

Must be available to be on call as needed, with overtime, weekend and holiday work required.

Minimum Qualifications/Experience:

High school diploma/G.E.D. and three years of work experience in facility maintenance or a related field; OR

Two years of technical or trade school training certification and two years of experience in facility maintenance or a related field.

Licenses:

Must have a valid driver-s license; and

Must have a Class B Commercial Driver-s License (CDL) or ability to obtain within 12 months from hire.

Certifications:

Must possess Aquatic Facilities Operator-s (AFO) Certification or obtain within 24 months from hire.

Must complete NIMS ICS-100 & 200 certifications or ability to complete within 12 months from hire.

Desired Qualifications:

Valid Class A Commercial Driver-s License (CDL) with the following endorsements: airbrakes, combination, and tanker.

Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI) Certification.
