Basic Function and Scope of Responsibility:  The Infrastructure Engineer is primarily responsible for engineering, configuration, installation, maintenance, and upgrade of the Company’s infrastructure, including physical and virtual servers, storage, backups, and disaster recovery planning. This role requires deep technical expertise, strategic thinking, and the ability to lead complex projects.Essential Job Duties:Level I - MinimumAssist in research, evaluation, and recommendation of hardware and software such as servers, storage (SAN/NAS), and backup software. Assist in supporting corporate servers, user desktops, etc.Assist in designing, configuring, or upgrading the virtual server environment.Assist with basic troubleshooting of backup and archiving.Assist in identifying, diagnosing, and resolving connection, reliability, or performance issues.Keep the workroom neat, organized, and secure.Work under close to moderate supervision with limited latitude for independent judgment.Consult with senior peers on non-complex projects to learn through experience.Apply basic application management and administration skills with a moderate level of proficiency.Represent the department and the organization favorably and in accordance with established Company standards and associate attributes.Work within defined ITIL processes such as change and incident management.Other duties as assigned by management.Level II – Fully meets the responsibilities of Level I plus the following:Manage Windows patching, security updates and software rollouts for all sites.Research, evaluate, and recommend hardware and software such as servers, storage (SAN/NAS), as well as backup software.Support of corporate servers in on-premise, hybrid, and cloud environments.Design, configure, or upgrade server and storage environments.Assists with advanced troubleshooting, backup, and archiving.Identify, diagnose, and resolve connection, reliability, or performance issues.Work within and assist with the management of defined IT processes and procedures, including Systems Development Life Cycle methodology.Work with little to no supervision with latitude for independent judgment.Consult with senior peers on medium to complex projects.Assist in overseeing the primary activities of individual contributors (see above) to ensure completion of tasks and attainment of departmental goals.
