Googols of Learning Child Development Center is looking for IMMEDIATE placement of a full time Cook Supervisor for a large child care center. Work experience in a facility regulated by KDHE, preferred or experience with institutional cooking in a different type of facility (group home, hospital, nursing home, etc.). Applicants with classroom experience in a licensed child care program also preferred. Resume and Application Required. ServSafe preferred.
The center has a full commercial kitchen with dishwasher and gas range. Supervise yourself in the kitchen! Full-time employees receive holiday pay. We can train you in the specifics of working in a kitchen for a child care center.
The applicant must:
Provide wholesome nutritious meals and snacks in accordance with Kansas State Health Department licensing regulations.
1. Have knowledge of nutritional needs of children
2. Understand quantity food preparation and service, avoiding waste and spoilage wherever possible.
3. Practice sanitary methods of food handling and storage.
4. Be sensitive to individual and cultural food tastes in children. Be responsive to religious food preferences, allergies, and food intolerances.
5. Work with Management Team and classroom teachers in planning learning experiences for children relative to nutrition.
6. Provide 2 snacks, and lunch for 80-100 children, following a posted menu and posting any changes to that menu.
7. Prepare menus and food orders and be able to lift a package of 6-#10 cans six (6") inches off the ground.
All new hires must show proof of full vaccination against COVID-19, specifically, original series, plus one booster.
Schedule is Monday-Friday, 7 am - 4 pm with a break.
