Resident Principal (Middle School)

Position Overview: The Principal-in-Residence (PIR) is designed for individuals preparing to take on the role of a school principal. This role provides extensive training and hands-on experience in all facets of school leadership, including strategic planning, community engagement, staff management, and curriculum oversight.Responsibilities:Strategic Leadership:Develop and implement a strategic plan for the school that aligns with KIPP KC’s mission and educational goals.Lead the school’s administrative and educational team, setting high standards for staff performance and student achievement.Curriculum and Instruction Oversight:Oversee the development and execution of the school’s curriculum and instructional practices to ensure they meet the needs of all students.Ensure that the school’s educational standards are met by regularly evaluating the effectiveness of the curriculum and instruction methods.Community and Stakeholder Engagement:Act as the main point of contact between the school and external stakeholders, including parents, community members, and educational partners.Develop partnerships that support educational programs and enhance student learning opportunities.Staff Development and Leadership:Manage, evaluate, and develop a team of administrators and teachers to build a reflective, collaborative, and dynamic educational environment.Promote professional growth opportunities for staff through coaching, mentoring, and leading professional development initiatives.
