If you have experience, I don’t need to say anything else. If you are new to restaurants, let me give you reasons NOT to get involved - this saves both of us time, effort, and nights of tearful regret. Sometimes other employees don’t show up and you get stuck staying late, sometimes everyone asks off for a certain day and you have to miss that big party, sometimes we are way busier than expected and everyone is a little tense, and sometimes customers take out their frustration on us (and especially in a management role, this is a reality you would have to deal with).However, there’s some good parts too! It can be very fast paced, which makes shifts go by quickly. While the menu doesn’t change, every day is different with the challenges it presents, and so you don’t have the same boring task over and over (and over…and over…and over…). When there are canceled orders (which happens way more than it should), we get free pizza!
