Employment Type:Full timeShift:Weekend ShiftDescription:Friday through Sunday 3rd shift ultrasound technologist position. Hours 7pm until 7am. Off every 6th weekend. Option to work additional shifts or take call if desired.Position Purpose:Performs ultrasonography procedures including vascular and general sonography for patients as ordered by the physician and provides diagnostic exams and communications for radiologist’s interpretation. Adheres to MercyOne performance expectations and performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of MercyOne.What you will Do:Prepares patient, room and equipment for procedure.Collects history data from patient and provides patient education.Provides patient cares in accordance with department policy.Performs ultrasound procedure.Provides radiologist pertinent information for interpretation.Performs sonograms and documents and communicates findings to radiologist.Performs doppler/color flow diagnostic studies and is able to accurately measure velocities and frequency shifts.Adheres to all safety, infection control and employee health policies and procedures.Based on principles of growth and development, provides care appropriate to the age related needs of the patients served on his/her assigned unit, which may include:Birth-28 days: Neonate1-18 Months: Infant18 Mo-3 Yrs: Toddler3-6 Yrs: Pre-School Aged6-12 Yrs: School-Aged12-18 Yrs: Adolescents18-65 Yrs: Adults65+ Yrs: GeriatricsHours/Schedule:Weekend package works 5 out of 6 weekends in a pay period.Weekend hours are 10:00pm to 6:30am Friday through Sunday.Minimum Qualifications:Radiology experience in addition to ultrasound experience preferred.Registered or eligible for registration by ARDMS required within 1 year of hire. Must obtain Certified by ARDMS and RVT, ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) - VS (Vascular Sonography), or CCI (Cardiovascular Credentialing International) - Registered Vascular Specialist within 1 year of eligibility to sit for the exam or within 2 years of hire. ARRT certification in Radiography preferred. BLS. Mandatory Reporter.Ability to work independently with speed and accuracy. Ability to work with diverse groups of people.
