Description We are seeking an Accountant/Payroll Specialist for a client in Sioux City, Iowa, United States. The role involves coordinating central payroll services and assisting with the financial review of various entities to ensure adherence to accepted accounting principles, laws, and regulations. This role also requires assistance with benefit enrollment and compliance.Responsibilities: Coordinate central payroll services for various entities Assist with the financial review of entities to ensure adherence to generally accepted accounting principles, laws, regulations, and financial policies Provide support and training for location bookkeepers and respond to inquiries in a timely manner Assist with the receipt of annual financial reports and preparation of annual bookkeeper meetings Complete desk reviews and on-site financial reviews to analyze financial transactions and internal control practices Assist with benefit enrollments for various locations Handle scheduled payroll services for various entities Train new bookkeepers and provide interim bookkeeping services as needed Provide general accounting support and on-going training to location bookkeepers Other duties as assigned.Requirements Possess a minimum of three years of experience in accounting or a similar role Proficient in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes Skilled in performing Bank Reconciliations Familiar with General Ledger management and Journal Entries Able to handle Month End Close procedures efficiently Proficiency in software applications such as NetSuite, Oracle, and QuickBooks Experience in managing Payroll is essential Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in work Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
