Administrative Director RN
Job Description
Directs day-to-day operation and long-term planning. Coordinates the scheduling of surgeries, employees, physicians and vendors. Prepares, compiles and maintains all business, quality, vendor and employee records. Enters patient Quality Improvement data into computer database. Communicates with staff and physicians to coordinate patient care and facilitate the flow of information. Greets patients and visitors. Acts as the liaison/decision maker in determining problem resolution for employees, patients and physicians. Acts as Charge RN during surgeries, including (but not limited to) OR preparation, scrub and circulation, pre-operative assessment/admission, and recovery/discharge. Assist in clinic setting, including patient assessment and follow-up, assisting physicians with procedures and patient education.
Education and training:
Current Iowa RN license required
OR experience is helpful (but not necessary, we will train!)
Previous management experience is helpful, but not required.
Computer and basic office skills required.
Knowledge of insurance reimbursement procedures is helpful.
Special skills:
Excellent communication skills are required to communicate with carious disciplines. Diplomacy, discretion and organization are required. Telephone etiquette is crucial. Must be able to tolerate and work with multiple stimuli at one time such as multiple people talking and giving orders, numerous phones ringing at the same time, and constant interruptions (See: Nursing). Must be able to maintain good customer service skills during high stress times, to assist patients and visitors who come to the desk for assistance.
Equipment:
Telephone, fax, computer, copy machine, general OR and PACU equipment
Financial:
Responsible for day-to-day operations. Ensuring proper utilization of supplies. Cost containment obtained through vendor relationships and appropriate just-in-time inventory. Supervision of staffing levels for cost efficiency.
Public relations:
Must present a pleasant, positive image. Utilizes communication and interpersonal skills to assist other and minimize conflict or inconvenience.
