Accounting Manager

The Accounting Manager administers the accounting and investment activities and is responsible for internal systems, processes, and procedures associated with accounting and investment activities for compliance with policies and national standards. This is a full-time salaried position that reports to the Vice President, Operations.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for understanding and implementing financial processes within the organization's policies and national standards.

Manage all aspects of bookkeeping and accounting processes including but not limited to: investments, granting, spending grants, scholarships, A/P, A/R, payroll, journal entries, reconciliations, and statement issuance.

Provide donors and fund representatives customer service regarding related funds.

Be key interface with banks and investment agencies and be responsible for prudent cash management decisioning, reporting, and adherence to policies.

Maintain accounting procedures and policies and systems, including corresponding written documentation.

Prepare monthly and annual financial, investment, committee, and management reports. Develop and distribute organizational financial dashboard metrics and reporting.

Develop income generating opportunities.

Monitor best practices, trends, and revenues and makes recommendations for change.

Evaluate processes and software applications for potential cost-savings and efficiencies.

Evaluate invoices for cost-savings opportunities.

Develop annual organization budget.

Support internal team in fund development and proposals.

Ensure insurance coverage is active and appropriate.

Serve as tax resource for general client gifting inquiries.

Complete human resource payroll functions and documentation as assigned.

Manage all facilities and leasing arrangements.

Provides oversight for all technology and software needs.

Responsible for office presentation and supplies.

Maintains organization's documents and files within retention schedules.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in accounting, preferred.

3-5 years of accounting experience.

Working knowledge of Foundant C-Suite accounting software desired.
