Need to be flexible with hours.Job DescriptionThis person will be responsible for operating equipment such as forklifts, backhoes, and front-end loaders in the shipyard, moving mixed products, and turning piles. The candidate must be flexible and willing to take on various tasks including pushing brooms, operating equipment, and cleaning equipment. The role involves handling materials up to 50 lbs, preparing organic mixes, and ensuring that piles are properly segregated.Responsibilities
Operate heavy equipment including forklifts, backhoes, and front-end loaders.
Move mixed products and turn piles in the shipyard.
Prepare organic mixes and segregate piles.
Handle materials up to 50 lbs.
Perform light cleanup tasks such as pushing brooms and cleaning equipment.
Adapt to various tasks as needed within the shipyard.
Essential Skills
Experience operating backhoes, front-end loaders, forklifts, and other heavy equipment.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to work in a dusty and non-climate controlled environment.
Capability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Willingness to climb ladders and remain on feet for most of the day.
2-3 years of experience using backhoes, skid loaders, front-end loaders, and forklifts.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
3+ years of experience in operating heavy equipment is preferred and may result in a higher pay range.
