Job DescriptionThe Iowa Veterans Home is seeking an excited, motivated RN interested in growing their leadership skills while leading a team of Nursing staff on the day shift. This Nurse Supervisor (NS) will spend approximately half of their time functioning as the day shift supervisor on their assigned unit and will spend the remainder of their time participating in the RAI process for their assigned resident caseload. In every action, the NS is a role model in all aspects of nursing practice. The NS will work with day shift peers to ensure leadership coverage Monday through Friday with the occasional weekend rotation and has the option of working four 10 hour shifts each week. At times, the candidate will cover as a house supervisor acting as a resource for all nursing staff in the facility. What we offer as a full time Iowa Veterans Home employee:

Minimum Qualification RequirementsApplicants must meet at least one of the following minimum requirements to qualify for positions in this job classification:1) All of the following (a, b, and c): a. Licensure as Registered Nurse in the State of Iowa by the Iowa Board of Nursing or licensure as a Registered Nurse in accordance with the Nurse Licensure Compact Administrator’s Agreement of the National Council of State Boards of Nursing; and

b. Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor’s degree in nursing; and

c. One year of full-time professional clinical work experience in a correctional environment or in any combination of nursing specialty areas including epidemiology, geriatrics, maternal and child health, nursing education, pediatrics, public health, mental health or psychiatrics, or intellectual disability.2) All of the following (a and b): a. Licensure as Registered Nurse in the State of Iowa by the Iowa Board of Nursing or licensure as a Registered Nurse in accordance with the Nurse Licensure Compact Administrator’s Agreement of the National Council of State Boards of Nursing; and

b. Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master’s degree in nursing.3) All of the following (a, b, and c): a. Licensure as Registered Nurse in the State of Iowa by the Iowa Board of Nursing or licensure as a Registered Nurse in accordance with the Nurse Licensure Compact Administrator’s Agreement of the National Council of State Boards of Nursing; and

b. One year of full-time professional clinical work experience in a correctional environment or in any combination of nursing specialty areas including epidemiology, geriatrics, maternal and child health, nursing education, pediatrics, public health, mental health or psychiatrics, or intellectual disability; and

c.
