Job DescriptionOnly applicants who meet the Minimum Qualification Requirements and meet all selective requirements below will be placed on the eligible list. The Department of Management (DOM), Division of Information Technology (DoIT) is seeking anInformation Technology Specialist 3 – Workstation Systems Administrator! This role will be responsible for managing the procurement, installation, and maintenance of workstations, laptops, and virtual desktops, ensuring system security, performance, and compliance. The ideal candidate will play a key role in maintaining the availability and stability of critical systems for broadcast and content creation.Key Responsibilities:

Procure, configure, install, and maintain enterprise workstation systems (including desktops, laptops, and virtual workstations) to ensure optimal performance.

Assess and analyze systems for compliance with security and configuration requirements, providing recommendations for system upgrades or service enhancements.

Ensure the health of enterprise systems by managing lifecycle replacements and system upgrades.

Support and maintain accounts and Group Policy Objects (GPOs) to ensure the availability, security, and integrity of the systems.

Implement access controls and monitoring tools to safeguard enterprise systems and data.

Apply troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to detect, isolate, and resolve technical issues in enterprise systems.

Provide direction and instruction to technical staff and endpoint support teams regarding system use and troubleshooting processes.

Offer support as needed to resolve urgent issues or outages.

Assist with the installation, support, maintenance, and upgrades for enterprise-wide systems and technology solutions, including servers, applications, and equipment.

Provision, procure, image, and decommission mobile devices (e.g., cell phones, tablets) while maintaining accurate technical documentation.

Support the Iowa PBS editing suite infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, and stability across software and hardware versioning.

Create and maintain user accounts for the enterprise and manage user account lifecycle processes.

Generating, testing and maintaining LAN/server system software

Installing and maintaining PC hardware and software

Creating data sets using a variety of software packages

Combining and converting data sets from different formats and sources to be used in spreadsheets, databases, and graphics software packages

Producing final data summaries and reports using standard statistical procedures

Producing final tables and graphics using various software packages

Minimum Qualification RequirementsApplicants must meet at least one of the following minimum requirements to qualify for positions in this job classification:1) Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in any field, and experience equal to one year of full-time work in: operating a multi-job computer; installing, operating, and coordinating computer-based networks; installing/maintaining database management systems; developing business application processes; developing/operating system programs; installing/maintaining personal computers, Local Area Networks, and/or servers; managing operating systems; developing/delivering information management training; providing Information Technology (IT) customer service; or designing/administering websites.2) Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in computer science, computer applications, software engineering, computer engineering, management information systems, business analytics, or cyber security.3) All of the following (a and b):a. One year of full-time work experience in: operating a multi-job computer; installing, operating, and coordinating computer-based networks; installing/maintaining database management systems; developing business application processes; developing/operating system programs; installing/maintaining personal computers, Local Area Networks, and/or servers; managing operating systems; developing/delivering information management training; providing Information Technology (IT) customer service; or designing/administering websites; and

b. A total of four years of education and/or full-time experience (as described in part a), where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university coursework in any field equals one year of full-time experience.4) All of the following (a and b):a. One year of full-time work experience in: operating a multi-job computer; installing, operating, and coordinating computer-based networks; installing/maintaining database management systems; developing business application processes; developing/operating system programs; installing/maintaining personal computers, Local Area Networks, and/or servers; managing operating systems; developing/delivering information management training; providing Information Technology (IT) customer service; designing/administering websites; or executing technology projects (e.g., systems analysis, requirements, design, development, and testing); and

b. Either of the following:

i. Certification by an authorized educational institution/major computer or software producer in an area directly related to one of the computer specialty fields described in part a; or
