Advanced Paint/Stain Lab Technician

The Lab Technician contributes to the overall finishing process. This may include all master standard color planks and chips, participates in all new color development and overall improvements in the finish process.The Lab Tech works Monday -Thursday 10.5 hour days, and overtime on Friday as deemed necessary by management. Duties and ResponsibilitiesFollows all safety rules and contributes to a safe work environment.Follows established manufacturing procedures under assigned department which may include but is not limited to:Assist with Finish/Stain StandardizationTest and approve all new paint and stain colorsMaintain color standardsSource of contact for Finish/Stain Suppliers (ex. Sherwin Williams)Source of contact for internal staining departmentsProblem solve finish/stain issues with associates of all levelsProblem solve finish/stain issues with Finish Supervisors and Plant ManagersMonitors process for consistency and overall finish qualityFurnishes reports as required by the Finish Application ManagerReports all processes and related discrepancies and adjustments to the ManagerAssists in assuring proper operation of finish equipment and processes in all finish aspects of Bertch CabinetsAssist in training for standardization of processes within finishAssist with improvements with equipment and standardization within finish areasParticipates and contributes to a Work Team environment and follows quality control checks.Contributes to meeting Bertch manufacturing schedule.Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
