The City of Iowa City Engineering Division is seeking a summer Civil Engineering intern to support

construction season engineering projects. There may be potential for extending through the fall and/or

spring semester(s) with a limited number of hours. This position will provide real work experience with

engineering related projects in a municipal setting. Primary duties involve assisting with surveying,

construction inspection, technical and administrative support. Both office and field work will be

required. The position includes flexibility to work during the summer and/or on a limited basis during

fall/spring semesters. Conducts self in a manner which promotes and supports diversity and inclusivity in

the workplace and community. Performs all other related duties as assigned.Minimum qualifications:

The ideal candidate will be actively participating in a degree program in civil engineering, civil

engineering technology or another closely related field. The following are essential: strong written and

oral communication skills; the ability to work both independently and in a group setting; and good

organizational and note taking skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office software required. Experience

with AutoCAD and ArcGIS is desirable. Valid drivers license with satisfactory driving record required.
