This position is contingent upon the award of the contract.This position will support the US Department of Veterans Affairs Critical Staffing Program.  The person in this position will represent International SOS and provide the services outlined below: International SOS is looking for an individual who holds qualifications for a Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist to operate a wide variety of imaging equipment in order to obtain studies for a multitude of exams and procedures in a variety of patient care settings. Key Responsibilities:Preparing patients for CT scans, explaining the procedure, and ensuring proper positioning for optimal image quality. This includes verifying patient identity and allergies. Independently operating the CT scanner, selecting appropriate scan parameters based on physician orders and patient anatomy. This includes adjusting technical factors like kVp, mAs, slice thickness, and pitch. Performing various types of CT scans (e.g., head, chest, abdomen, extremities) according to established protocols and physician orders. This involves monitoring the scan process and ensuring quality images are obtained. Evaluating the quality of acquired images for artifacts, motion, and other inconsistencies, and taking corrective actions if necessary. This includes recognizing and responding to technical issues. Adhering to strict radiation safety protocols, utilizing appropriate shielding techniques, and minimizing radiation exposure to both patients and themselves. This includes understanding ALARA principles. Performing basic equipment maintenance, troubleshooting minor technical problems, and reporting malfunctions to the appropriate personnel. Accurately documenting patient information, scan parameters, and any relevant observations in the patient's medical record. This ensures accurate and complete record keeping. Communicating effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow. This includes responding to queries and providing information as needed. Maintaining a clean and sterile environment, following infection control protocols, and adhering to proper hygiene practices to minimize the risk of infection. Staying current with advancements in CT technology, imaging techniques, and radiation safety protocols through continuing education and professional development. This list is non-exhaustive, and the role holder may be required to undertake additional duties that are not specifically listed above.
