Description:Looking for an experienced Drafter/Designer to lead our design management of all models and files necessary to complete Heavy Highway paving projects. This person will be responsible for designing heavy highway projects and also to be the direct point of contact for Heavy Highway paving personnel, and any outside contractors and customers, for the development of and modifications to CAD files.Essential Duties:
Build and compile CAD files for Heavy Highway concrete paving operations.
Collect and process as-built information.
Adjust files from field-collected data, as needed.
Coordinate work, daily, with Heavy Highway Operations Manager, Director of Operations, Project Managers, General Contractors, field staff, and other personnel, as needed.
Complete projects in strict accordance to plans and specifications and maintain a productions schedule for 3 working days.
Follow Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) set by the company.
Strive to continually improve the company and its processes.
Responsible for time management of creating and modifying design files to complement project schedules and deadlines.
Perform other job-related duties and responsibilities, as assigned.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
High School diploma, or equivalent, required. Higher education, preferred.
3+ years in a leadership role with experience in construction industry, preferred.
3+ years' experience in land surveying and interpreting site survey control points.
Experience with CAD design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.).
Construction design software and hardware experience, preferably Carlson and Leica.
Understanding of civil design and commonly used civil engineering concepts, practices, and procedures.
Able to read and interpret engineering plans and documents.
Able to understand drafting standards and design documentation.
Valid driver's license and an insurable driving record are required.
