Job DescriptionWe are expanding our operations and are in need of an experienced CNC Milling Machinist for both 1st shift and 2nd shift at our location that is right on the outskirts of Davenport. Join our dynamic team and contribute to our booming steel industry operations.Responsibilities
Operate CNC vertical machining centers with precision.
Write programs at the controller for various parts using Mazatrol and FANUC controllers.
Read and interpret engineering drawings accurately.
Align and secure material on the machine, positioning pieces to be machined into jigs, holding fixtures, guides, and steps using measuring instruments and hand tools.
Specify and manage proper tooling for the part/job.
Detect worn tooling and adjust to ensure tolerances are met.
Unload inbound trucks using forklifts and overhead cranes.
Locate material and verify grade, size, and quantity by visually inspecting and physically measuring material.
Inspect all completed work for conformance to required material specifications.
Essential Skills
1-3 years of work experience operating CNC vertical machining centers.
Working knowledge of FANUC and Mazatrol controllers.
Proficient in G and M codes related to vertical machining centers.
Advanced math skills with the ability to calculate feeds and speeds.
Proficiency in using tape measures, micrometers, and calipers.
