Job Description
Assist in management of robotic dairy herd, care of baby calves, cattle, operation of skid steers, and maintenance of robots and facilities.
Duties and responsibilities to be taught
Included but not limited to
Dairy Herd Duties
Operating Skid-steer for various tasks
Mixing Feed and Feeding milk cows, dry cows, prefresh.
Fetching Cows
Evaluation and Treatment of Cows
Entering Data
Assisting with Herd Checks
Improving Reproduction
Running footbaths and hoofcare
Drying Off and Movement of cows.
Calves
Evaluation and Treatment of Calves
Identification and Genomic Sampling
Transportation of Calves
Maintenance
Daily Maintenance of Robots
Weekly Cleaning of Facilities
On-Call for Robot Alarms
Bedding Free-Stalls, Maternity, calves and other pens
Requirements
Must be able to work weekends and holidays
- Hours of work: 2-4+ hours a shift depending on tasks that need to be accomplished.
- Strong sense of accountability, Strong desire to work with cattle ,Strong communication skills. - Willing to learn new skills and concepts
- Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs at a given time (for carrying buckets and moving baby calves). - Ability to work flexible hours depending on what needs to get done.
