We are looking to hire an Environmental Services Supervisor.As an Environmental Services Supervisor at MercyOne, you will Under the general direction of the Director of Environmental Services, are responsible providing effective leadership, guidance, and supervision of the daily functions of Environmental Services. The Supervisor plans, assigns and monitors colleague work performance in order to achieve efficient and effective departmental operations. Assists the Director with development and implementation of policies and procedures that facilitate daily operations, safety and cleanliness and are in accordance with all applicable Mercy Medical Center policies and procedures, Joint Commission (TJC) standards, state and federal laws and regulations. Responsible for staff scheduling, performance evaluations, training programs and assists with the disciplinary process. (Found on Position Purpose)Schedule:

General Requirements:

Assists with the hiring, scheduling, placement, training, evaluations and disciplinary actions.

Effectively supervises the day-to-day activities of the Environmental Services department by establishing staff work schedules, monitoring workload, and staff assignments. Ensures that staff are efficient and effective in cleaning duties. Adjusts staff to changing and/or varied workloads.

Education:

High-school diploma or GED required. Associate's degree preferred.

Formalized training in environmental cleaning programs and safety methodology preferred.

Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training is required within 6 months of hire and every 5 years thereafter.

Previous experience of 3-5 years in environmental services/housekeeping including 1-2 years in a leadership/supervisory role; hospital setting preferred.
