The client(s) are looking for 2-3 competent Caregivers to care for a 97 year old client and help assist his spouse in a professional and compassionate manner. The ideal candidate will be patient and friendly with excellent communication skills. You should be able to follow instructions and perform a variety of tasks to help clients. The ideal candidate would be a current/ and or a retired LPN-RN (but not required), or caretaker with a minimum experience of 5 years. The shift(s) would run Sunday thorough Saturday, some include overnights in the home, with 4 to 12-hour shifts available, availability for day/afternoon shifts- weekend/ and or every other weekend availability is a must.
Flexibility is required.
Responsibilities:
Help client take morning and evening prescribed medication
Assist client with mobility around the house or outside. ( appointments, etc.)
Assist client with morning and evening routine, i.e.: dress, nebulizer, inhaler, apply daily topicals as prescribed
Plan and prepare meals for client as needed, or pick up meals
Perform light housekeeping duties i.e.: laundry, dishes, clean up kitchen area, bathroom and bedroom of client
Assist client with daily activities; i.e.: playing cards, games, watch movies/boxing
Assist client in/out of vehicle; take to activities or appointments as needed
Be a pleasant and supportive caregiver as client does have dementia
Report any unusual incidents and communicate to client spouse
Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
Requirements:
Proven experience as a caregiver
Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid, wound care
Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking with attention to dietary constraints
Willingness to adhere to privacy of the client with a NDA to sign upon hire
Full background check will be required
1099 is required
Personal liability, or professional liability insurance required, proof of insurance
Respectful and compassionate to client and client family
Physical appearance is important; i.e.: dressing appropriately to the job, being clean and having good personal hygiene, and carrying yourself well
Good time management skills; being on time is imperative
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills; being able to communicate to the client family daily on client needs; updates on care
