Following all policies and procedures, the successful candidate will:
Take inbound phone calls from taxpayers and answer simple inquiries.
Verify authorization before discussing confidential tax information.
Determine the level of technical or system assistance needed and take appropriate steps to resolve issues such as login errors, password resets, and relaying refund/billing amounts, and general tax information.
Escalate more complex inquiries to a Taxpayer Service Specialist, or take down information for a callback.
Long periods of sitting is typical.
Must be able to perform all of the tasks listed above, and be flexible to work on additional projects as assigned.
Preference will be given for experience in a call center environment.
This is a Monday through Friday 8:00 A.M. - 4:30 P.M. shift onsite at the Hoover Building.
The rate of pay is $16.50 an hour and is considered a seasonal assignment.
Additional Requirements: Must pass a criminal background check, FBI fingerprinting, and be in compliance with Iowa tax filing requirements and willing to participate in the E-verify process.
