Job DescriptionOnly applicants who meet the Minimum Qualification Requirements and meet all selective requirements (listed below) will be placed on the eligible list.The Department of Management (DOM), Division of Information Technology (DoIT) is seeking an Information Technology Specialist 5 – Cloud Infrastructure Lead!This role will be responsible for managing cloud services and vendor relationships, ensuring new cloud technologies align with business needs, while resolving any issues with cloud infrastructure and existing IT systems. This role also leads the implementation of infrastructure improvements, develops cloud transition plans, and manages budgets for cloud and technology services.Key Responsibilities:

Serve as the AWS cloud services lead and administer AWS application

Manage cloud services vendor relationships and ensure service quality, functionality, and interoperability.

Coordinate with internal and external teams to evaluate and implement new cloud technologies that align with business goals.

Work with developers, database administrators, business managers, and other staff to ensure cloud services meet business needs and integrate with existing systems.

Troubleshoot and resolve cloud-related issues with service providers and internal teams, ensuring seamless integration with IT systems.

Assist with cloud service contracts and manage operational budgets for cloud and related technology services.

Develop and execute transition plans for migrating internal infrastructure to the cloud.

Ensure that established service levels for cloud services are met or exceeded, tracking performance and quality.

Provide regular updates to IT leadership and executives on the status of cloud infrastructure initiatives.

Maintain up-to-date technical documentation for cloud services and infrastructure.

Identify and implement improvements to existing hardware/software infrastructure to meet current and future department needs.

Lead the implementation of new hardware/software solutions based on departmental requirements.

Administer, maintain, and monitor Windows servers and manage virtualization/cloud technologies like VMware vSphere, AWS, and Azure.

Selectives419 PC/LAN Server:6 months’ experience, 12 semester hours, or a combination of both in the following:

Generating, testing and maintaining LAN/server system software

Installing and maintaining PC hardware and software

Creating data sets using a variety of software packages

Combining and converting data sets from different formats and sources to be used in spreadsheets, databases, and graphics software packages

Producing final data summaries and reports using standard statistical procedures

Producing final tables and graphics using various software packages

Minimum Qualification RequirementsApplicants must meet at least one of the following minimum requirements to qualify for positions in this job classification: 1) Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in any field, and experience equal to three years of full-time work in: operating a multi-job computer; installing, operating, and coordinating computer-based networks; installing/maintaining database management systems; developing business application processes; developing/operating system programs; installing/maintaining personal computers, Local Area Networks, and/or servers; managing operating systems; developing/delivering information management training; providing Information Technology (IT) customer service; designing/administering websites; or executing technology projects (e.g., systems analysis, requirements, design, development, and testing). 2) All of the following (a and b): a. Three years of full-time work experience in: operating a multi-job computer; installing, operating, and coordinating computer-based networks; installing/maintaining database management systems; developing business application processes; developing/operating system programs; installing/maintaining personal computers, Local Area Networks, and/or servers; managing operating systems; developing/delivering information management training; providing Information Technology (IT) customer service; designing/administering websites; or executing technology projects (e.g., systems analysis, requirements, design, development, and testing); and b. A total of four years of education and/or full-time experience (as described in part a), where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university coursework in any field equals one year of full-time experience. 3) All of the following (a and b): a. Three years of full-time work experience in: operating a multi-job computer; installing, operating, and coordinating computer-based networks; installing/maintaining database management systems; developing business application processes; developing/operating system programs; installing/maintaining personal computers, Local Area Networks, and/or servers; managing operating systems; developing/delivering information management training; providing Information Technology (IT) customer service; designing/administering websites; or executing technology projects (e.g., systems analysis, requirements, design, development, and testing); and b. Certification by an authorized educational institution/major computer or software producer in an area directly related to one of the computer specialty fields described in part a. 4) All of the following (a and b): a. Three years of full-time work experience in: operating a multi-job computer; installing, operating, and coordinating computer-based networks; installing/maintaining database management systems; developing business application processes; developing/operating system programs; installing/maintaining personal computers, Local Area Networks, and/or servers; managing operating systems; developing/delivering information management training; providing Information Technology (IT) customer service; designing/administering websites; or executing technology projects (e.g., systems analysis, requirements, design, development, and testing); and b. Eighteen semester hours of accredited post-high-school coursework in one of the specialty fields described in part a. 5) Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes six months of fulltime work as an Information Technology Specialist 4.
