The Iowa Judicial Branch has an immediate opening for an Information System Security Analyst Senior to join our team. The Security Analyst role is to take proactive security measures to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the judicial branch information systems, databases, and networks. This position will report to the Information System Security Manager. This position will proactively identify vulnerabilities, lead security incident response and investigation, recommend updates and upgrades to security measures.To be successful in this position, you will need:

This position is eligible for the option to telework after the initial training period. We offer the availability to hire above minimum salary to candidates, based on their experience and education. Responsibilities:Assist supervisor by performing duties such as coaching team members, answering questions, distributing and balancing the workload, and checking work.Develop, execute and resolve branch security solutions, including firewall, anti-virus, and intrusion detection systems in collaboration with the Information System Security Manager.Manage and analyze varying levels of penetration testing to effectively uncover network vulnerabilities and maintain a high-security standard.Review, diagnose and initiate preventative measures to potential security issues or threats.Anticipate, analyze and lead response to security incidents. Determine how future breaches can be mitigated efficiently.Perform security reviews and/or audits of existing and newly acquired systems.Communicate in real-time, potential threats, vulnerabilities and security issues identified within the branch to the Information System Security Manager.Lead investigations being performed by the Information System Security Team. Perform forensic analysis of security breaches and evaluate damage.Manage security software installation and lead information security management measures.Monitor and use the call ticketing system to document the entire incident management process, from issue description, decisions made, successful and unsuccessful actions taken to final resolution and resulting damage for security related problems, incidents and reports.Stay current on Information Technology (IT) security trends and news.Recommend changes and updates to the environment that can help remove vulnerabilities and reduce the risk of exploitation that may result in potential security incidents.Participate in the development, implementation and maintenance of IT security strategies, policies, procedures, best practices, awareness and training for the judicial branch.Conduct research and make recommendations on products, services, protocols, and standards in support of all information security procurement and development efforts.Assist with RFP preparation, bid proposals, contracts, scope of work reports, and other documentation for security projects and associated efforts.Perform other duties as assigned.This is a non-merit position with the Iowa Judicial Branch. Candidates must follow the instructions in the "To Apply" section.Positions in this class are exempt from the screening and referral requirements of the Iowa Department of Administrative Services - Human Resources Enterprise.Minimum Qualification Requirements1) Six (6) years’ experience in information security, networking, cybersecurity, computer science, or closely related field.2) At least four (4) years of related experience specifically in information security or networking.3) Have a valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the State.Experience may be substituted with related education on the basis that successful completion of thirty (30) semester hours or academic equivalent equals one year of experience.Applicants must show proof of the legal right to work in the United States - sponsorships are not available for this position. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.Knowledge & ExperienceKnowledge of cybersecurity and information security analysis, application of a variety of security tools, and best practices.Knowledge of computer network penetration testing and techniques. Knowledge of firewalls, proxies, SIEM, antivirus and IDPS concepts.Knowledge and understanding of the various ways attacks are carried out against a system or network and how to effectively detect them.Understanding the application of human-centered security such as security awareness training.Working technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards, as well as network and PC operating systems.Ability to maintain confidentiality and safeguard confidential data.Familiarity with applicable data privacy practices and laws.Ability to identify, mitigate, and communicate network vulnerabilities and how to avoid them.Ability to quickly learn new processes and technologies, and to adapt to changes in sequences and timelines.Ability to effectively manage multiple activities, including cross-team dependent activities simultaneously while in high pressure situations.Ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences.Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.Highly self-motivated.Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong attention to detail.Strong critical thinking skills.Ability to work off hours when needed to meet deadlines and resolve issues.Ability to be on-call as needed.01
