Learn more at www.janssen.com and follow us @JanssenGlobal.The Field Director will be responsible for the execution of field Medical Affairs programs, including product launches, proactive initiatives, and HCP engagement. The Field Director is responsible for insuring that each direct report is functioning at the expected level of scientific acumen/expertise, presentation skills, and soft skill abilities.Planning coordination will be required to effectively manage priorities. The Field Director is expected to identify possible solution(s) and make a recommendation to the supervisor for action. The recommendations are expected to support the company’s scientific objectives. In addition, the Field Director will work collaboratively with local and regional internal business partners to meet scientific needs of customers.Key Responsibilities:

Leading a Mood Medical Science Liaison (MSL) in providing scientific, research, and educational support to health care professionals and internal partners related to the current and future Janssen Mood or SCZ products.

Insuring strong clinical engagement strategy for each territory within their region, and will conduct routine strategy reviews with each MSL direct report.

Recruiting and retention of a diverse team of top talent and will actively implement leadership strategies to inspire and motivate their team members.

Provide support, coaching and development to each or their direct reports (MSLs), utilizing the competency model, routine feedback, and periodic field observation.

Embody positive change leadership, including maintaining performance, professionalism, and integrity in stressful situations and multiple task settings; Coordinating with other Medical Affairs and Scientific Affairs personnel.

Field partner communication and collaboration across their respective regions. They will insure their team’s compliant, routine communication with all partners, such as Mood Specialists, District Managers, KAMs, Clinical Educators, and other MSLs.

Partner with the MSL Head to develop and execute the strategy for their region/organized providers. Provide insights and perspective from their KOLs and other specialists that will help refine the development of the overall TA strategy.

Leading scientific projects and programs as assigned by the Scientific Director. This will include joint strategic design with the Scientific Director and independent tactical execution.

QualificationsEducation:

A minimum of a master’s degree is required.

PharmD, PhD, MD, or NP highly preferred.

Experience and Skills:Required:

Minimum of 8 years required; 4-5 years of pharmaceutical industry, clinical/research experience is required and 2-3 years of MSL experience is required.

Preferred:

Previous people management responsibility is preferred.

Mood or Schizophrenia experience is preferred.

Other:

Requires regional travel of approximately 50-60% depending on geography (includes overnight travel)

Ability to maintain an office in the home required.

Must live in their assigned region and in close proximity to an airport.

Must be available to attend periodic national scientific congresses and key strategic/scientific meetings at the corporate office in /Titusville, NJ.

This position is eligible for a company car through the Company’s FLEET program.The anticipated base pay range for this position is $157,000 to $263,350. The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year.
