Job DescriptionIowa Department of Education’s mission is ensuring all students experience a world-class education. To accomplish our mission, we need talented, passionate people working together to build an excellent education system that empowers all students to achieve their full potential.The Education Program Consultant (State Assessment) will be an integral member of the School Improvement Bureau, providing technical assistance, monitoring and support to school districts, Area Education Agencies, and non-public schools.Your Responsibilities:

Integrate and coordinate internal assessment team and work across organizational units within the Department.

Provide leadership and technical assistance to school districts to effectively select and use assessment tools and data for all federal and statewide assessments. Conduct LEA risk assessments and provide virtual and on site monitoring.

Regularly collaborate with Iowa Testing related to the Statewide Assessment of Student Progress (ISASP), which is the summative accountability assessment for all Iowa students that meets the requirements of the federal Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).

Lead the Statewide Assessment Advisory.

Prepare written reports and various presentations on assessment and results of analyses.

Serve as a member of the ESSA Network team, including attending meetings and as an expert in data analysis on the site visit and follow up team.

Professional training, teaching, or counseling experience in an educational setting;b. Professional administrative experience in an educational setting;c. Professional personnel administration including such areas as job analysis, performance appraisal systems, selection devices, or labor relations;d. Professional finance, accounting, or auditing experience including the preparation or analysis of financial statements;e.
