Job DescriptionIowa Workforce Development (IWD) is seeking applicants for the position of Clerk Advanced for the 1000 E Grand Ave Des Moines, IA office.The successful candidate will provide support in document data entry, maintain spreadsheets, customer service, and clerical for the Field Audit Misclassification unit at our Administration Building.Duties include but are not limited to:Field Audit Support

Assist in obtaining accounting records of business organizations, individuals, and partnerships to aid field auditors in the examination of financial statements, reviews general ledger and balance sheets, sales and statistical reports, wage reports, etc.

Records Retention

Maintain spreadsheets indicating various audit actions taken to identify misclassified employers against claimant accounts and make available to UI Manager.

Excel and Word skills to produce alternate methods of displaying data such as charts, tables, and graphs.

Customer Service

Respond to employers, claimants, and agents regarding notices either orally or in writing and respond to calls and emails from Iowa Land Records office regarding legal action that has been filed.

Communicate with collection staff regarding appeals received.

Responsible for creating assignments for Field Auditors and Employer Liability Specialist based on information received on an appeal.

Help customers resolve problems and answer questions about using the on-line filing system. Assist customers resolve technical difficulties.

Respond to phone calls and emails from customers seeking information or assistance within specified time frames.

Develop a thorough knowledge of the filing system, gather background information, review manuals and other communications to help customers and to resolve issues.

Determine point of contact for more complex or escalated calls.

Contact businesses to explain electronic services and encourage utilization and assist in other efforts to market the on-line computer services.

Documentation Support

The Clerk Advanced will assist with processing of paper documents such as Power of Attorney, address changes, waivers, etc. that have been assigned by workflows or relayed from employers.

Prepare documents for data entry or data enter the document information. Pull items off the fax server to be scanned and processed.

Clerical Support

Assist with processing physical correspondence (mail, fax, etc.) to identify any employer issues that may inhibit the proper classification of employees.
