Description Robert Half is working on an exciting and unique 100% remote opportunity with a public accounting firm outside of Iowa, seeking to hire an Iowa Accountant. The role involves a blend of responsibilities related to bookkeeping, tax, and advisory services within a variety of industries. The role is ideal for individuals with a good understanding of taxes, full-cycle accounting and a knack for utilizing accounting software systems effectively.Responsibilities: Handle traditional accounting functions for a small firm, providing a comprehensive one-stop-shop for accounting, tax, and advisory services. Balance work between bookkeeping and tax-related tasks, adjusting the mix of work based on individual's background and expertise. Serve different kinds of businesses, including school accounting, farm accounting, and more, ensuring that all financial activities from Accounts Payable (AP) to Accounts Receivable (AR) are accurately tracked. Utilize QuickBooks Online (QBO) for managing and maintaining financial records and transactions. Display tech-savviness in managing tasks such as bookmarking PDFs, mapping a chart of accounts, etc. Work independently, demonstrating self-management, diligence, and attention to detail in all tasks. Communicate and collaborate effectively with partners and other team members. Continuously learn and adapt to new systems and processes, exhibiting a strong aptitude for technical tasks. Handle complex tax return processes and corporate tax compliance. Manage cash activity and corporate income tax duties.Requirements Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems including advanced Excel Familiarity with Accounting Functions Ability to manage Cash Activity Knowledge of Corporate Income Tax Understanding of Corporate Tax Compliance Experience in handling Complex Tax Return Skills in Bookkeeping Ability to work in a team and collaborate effectively Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines Bachelor's degree in Accounting Relevant professional certification (e.g. CPA or EA) is a must Previous background in QuickBooks Online (QBO) is required Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
