Director of District Services (211 day contract) Dept/Div: Administration FLSA Status: Exempt General Definition of Work Performs administrative work overseeing and coordinating a wide range of essential services and programs such as special education, curriculum, instruction, teacher leadership, English Limited Learners, Talented and Gifted, At-risk, Migrant, homeless, and related programs as apparent or assigned. Provides leadership that utilizes strategic planning, effective collaboration, and a deep commitment to supporting the diverse needs of students, staff, and stakeholders. Strategic Planning:

Develop and implement strategic plans for district-wide services in alignment with the district's goals and priorities.

Evaluate current programs and services to identify areas for improvement and innovation.

Program Oversight:

Provide oversight and guidance for various district services.

Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and guidelines related to district services.

Collaboration and Coordination:

Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, support staff to develop and implement effective strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.

Facilitate communication and collaboration between different departments to ensure seamless delivery of services.

Staff Development and Training:

Provide leadership and professional development opportunities for staff members involved in district services.

Support staff in implementing best practices and evidence-based approaches to support student success.

Data Analysis and Evaluation:

Collect and analyze data related to district services to monitor effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.

Use data-driven decision-making processes to evaluate program outcomes and make recommendations for adjustments as needed.

Budget Management:

Develop and manage budgets for district services, ensuring efficient use of resources and alignment with district priorities.

Monitor expenditures and allocate resources effectively to support the goals and objectives of district services.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Comprehensive knowledge of educational principles, practices, policies and procedures; comprehensive knowledge of general laws and administrative policies governing school practices and procedures; thorough skill operating standard office equipment, hardware and software; ability to make arithmetic computations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals; ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages; ability to develop and communicate ideas effectively, orally and in written form; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other staff, students, parents, administration, the School Board, and the general public.

Education and Experience

Master’s degree in school administration, or related field and considerable experience working in a school environment as a professional supervisor, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Requirements

This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds of force; work regularly requires sitting and walking, speaking or hearing and occasionally requires standing; work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas and conveying detailed or important instructions to others accurately, loudly or quickly; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels and to receive detailed information through oral communications; work requires preparing and analyzing data, operating machines, operating motor vehicle and observing general surroundings and activities; work occasionally requires exposure to bloodborne pathogens and may be required to wear specialized personal protective equipment; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, light traffic).
