Description If you're a skilled accountant and enjoy solving complex problems, Robert Half is currently looking for a talented Staff Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis. In this role, the Staff Accountant is in charge of preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. Throughout the monthly close, you will also be responsible for various aspects of internal reporting. You will assist in developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will review schedules for the reporting processes, take part in compliance, and interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. This position is very complex as it plays a part in the production of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Arrange schedules for capital lease and monthly payments
Prepare analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management to report on
Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls. Also ensure that accounting procedures comply with GAAP
Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks
Ad hoc reporting and performing special projects upon request
Compose thorough journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
Perform month end close, journal entries, with minimum supervision
Manage depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation
Become well-versed in month end balance sheet account reconciliations
Regular maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries
Partake in a variety of department-wide initiatives
Manage intercompany reconciliation, billings, and transactions
Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner Requirements - Ability to meet deadlines
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
Distinguished analytical, quantitative and social skills
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills
Reconciliations experience
Expertise in Accounting cycle
Microsoft Excel experience desired
Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
Efficient in ERP systems
Self-starter and strong ethical standards
Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
