Job Description:
Superior Skilled Trades is currently hiring experienced Commercial Carpenters for active construction projects in Cedar Rapids, IA. This temp-to-hire position is ideal for skilled professionals with a solid background in both structural and finish carpentry, who can work independently, follow project specifications, and deliver high-quality results.
Key Responsibilities:
Interpret and follow construction plans, blueprints, and diagrams to determine project specifications and layout.
Construct, install, and repair structural frameworks including walls, floors, ceilings, and roofs using wood, metal studs, and other materials.
Frame interior partition walls with metal or wood studs, ensuring proper spacing and alignment.
Accurately lay out wall systems per construction drawings.
Hang drywall according to project specifications and quality standards.
Install finish carpentry components including fixtures, cabinets, doors, windows, trim, and other interior/exterior finishes.
Maintain compliance with all safety regulations and ensure work meets building code requirements.
Required Skills and Experience:
Minimum 2 years of experience in commercial carpentry, including framing, drywall, and finish work.
Ability to read and interpret construction documents and blueprints accurately.
Strong knowledge of construction safety practices and building codes.
Skilled in the use of hand and power tools specific to the trade.
Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently or with a team.
Proper use of PPE is required: Hard Hat, Vest, Safety Glasses
