The Human Resources Manager serves as a Generalist in the areas of employee/labor relations, training and development, staffing, performance management, benefits, compensation, communication, and legal issues and as the direct supervisor.

Responsibilities:

Provide counsel and guidance to the Production, Operation, and Sales teams regarding policies, procedures, and state and federal regulatory compliance requirements.

Develop, implement and coordinate Human Resource policies and programs. Provide advice, assistance and follow up on company policies, procedures, and documentation.

Oversee and assist with the company's performance management system and conduct performance management reviews.

Handle disciplinary situations including discharge and suspension for hourly and salaried employees.

Investigate employee concerns such as harassment and discrimination claims, and recommend course of action.

Attend Union and Supervisory meetings.

Serve as support for union contract negotiations.

Manage recruiting for the plant.

Oversee the input and accuracy of applicant data into HR systems.

Assist supervisors and managers in ensuring employees are in compliance with policies and procedures.

Facilitate New Hire Orientation which includes the completion of new hire paperwork, company overview, appropriate workplace behavior, safety awareness, benefits and 401k enrollment.

Partner with Training Department to recommend, develop and schedule training.

Implement and utilize HR metrics to measure performance.

Assist with other administrative functions as needed.

REQUIREMENTS

5 - 8 years of Human Resources management experience with at least 2 years of Human Resource Generalist experience is required.

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or a related field. One or more HR certifications (e.g. PHR, SPHR) preferred.

Knowledge of State employment laws.

Experience working in a unionized environment.

Experience working in a manufacturing setting is extremely helpful.

Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) is required.

Excellent communications skills both verbal and written.

Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact well with a variety of positions and levels within the organization.

Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

A self-motivated work ethic required.

Must be able to work within a team atmosphere and effectively coach for results.
