You’ll have the exciting opportunity to build out our quality assurance role and future test team, while identifying tools and processes. Your goal is to champion the quality mindset and to ensure quality is built into each phase of the software development and solution support life-cycles. You will collaborate with key business and IT stakeholders for each initiative, and will be a strong advocate for our customers. You will be working with an exceptional group of individuals and collaborate on ensuring that the final solution delivered provides an outstanding experience for your customers. You’ll have the opportunity to work on new technology implementations of leading software solutions, such as enterprise information management, Salesforce, Mulesoft, Informatica etc. Our current projects include redefining the future business processes and supporting technology solutions.Responsibilities:
Oversee all test activities, including those performed by analysts and end users
Train and mentor team members across multiple functions on what “good” testing looks like
Review business and technical requirements and high-level design for completeness, and become a subject matter expert on as-requested and as-implemented solutions
Establish test plans for each initiative, and review the plans with key stakeholders for feedback and alignment
Define test environment and test data needs
Recommend schedule for test phase of the software development lifecycle
Provide estimates for test planning, test case creation, and test execution
Assess trends to establish heuristics for test effort estimation
Author suites of test cases for new and existing features, integrations, and one-time data conversions and migrations
Use industry standard tools to automate tests, where applicable
Perform manual testing as required
Coordinate user acceptance testing, and assist end users as needed
Troubleshoot, triage and communicate defects found, and verify fixes align with expectations
Ensure test activities are completed per expectations
Analyze and report quality measurements and statistics, and provide a “go – no go” recommendation for each phase of a project
Verify quality assurance procedures are followed throughout the software development lifecycle
Identify and recommend areas for quality and efficiency improvements
Assess test escapes and enhance test plans and test suites for future prevention
Drive a mindset of continuous improvement for processes and solutions
Participate in cross-functional discussions to review the impact of application changes
Communicate effortlessly with BU and IT stakeholders
Live the GreatAmerica principles; participate in shared team responsibilities (i.e., team coverage, effective team meetings, report review, contests, celebrations, etc.) to ensure team effectiveness
Perform other duties as assigned
This role may need to work outside of 8:00 - 5:00 hours to support solution deliveries.Position QualificationsEducation: Bachelor’s degree required. Experience:
Minimum 8 years direct experience in the implementation of quality assurance standards for software testing
Minimum 2 years direct experience validating system integrations
Minimum 3 years direct experience as a lead tester for major application releases
Strong knowledge of system testing best practices and methodologies
Experience (formally or project-based) leading teams from various functions
Skills and Abilities Computer Skills:
Excellent PC skills are required
Experience with core software applications (Infolease, Informatica, Microsoft, MuleSoft, OnBase, Salesforce, and Tableau) is desirable
Technically fluent in programming languages including Java, .NET, SharePoint, SQL is desirable
