Accountant

Description We are offering a short-term contract employment opportunity for an Accountant to join our team in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The primary function of this role is to support a busy accounting team on a part-time basis (20-30 hours) through various responsibilities such as account and bank reconciliations, and the preparation of various reports. This role resides within the industry of accounting and financial services. Responsibilities: Preparing account and bank reconciliations and investigating any variances found Assisting in the preparation of documents for record retention purposes Assisting in preparing various reports for Asset Management, Fund Management, Corporate Tax, and Investment Reporting Preparing documentation in PDF and making appropriate edits. Documenting processes and procedures, complying with internal risk policies and controls, and maintaining evidence in an effective manner Assisting with various projects and tasks as required Loading documents into the filing retention system Utilizing skills in Bank Reconciliations, Month End Close, Microsoft Excel, and PDFs.Requirements Applicants should possess proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Experience in bank reconciliations is a key requirement for this role. Candidates should have experience in month-end close processes. Proficiency in handling and managing PDF documents is required. A professional qualification in accounting or a related field is required. Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
