DescriptionA Day in the Life of a Groundskeeper/Maintenance Worker at THE SUMMIT:

Is familiar with all aspects of the landscape architecture and works to maintain the highest quality appearance of all exterior property.

Keeps living and work environment clean and safe at all times. Follows safety procedures. Knows fire and disaster plan and is familiar with fire pulls, extinguisher, and emergency phone numbers.

Continuously watches for any potentially hazardous condition, corrects if possible.

Maintains all of the community grounds and landscaping, keeping areas free of trash debris and weeds.

Assists residents with individual landscaping requests.

Understands the facility’s charge system, and is capable of explaining to residents.

Works with Lifestyle Services Department in providing gardening classes, and assisting disabled residents with gardening activities.

Observes label hazards and proper use of chemicals and insecticides/pesticides.

Organizes and maintains MSDS sheets.

Assists in the ordering of supplies and maintains organized stock rooms.
