Description Robert Half has an opening for an ambitious Controller for a reputable manufacturing company. This is a leadership role with responsibility over an accounting and clerical department. As the Controller, you will be planning and directing all accounting operational functions, handling the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluating accounting and internal control systems, and leading departmental staff. The Controller will be a permanent employment opportunity and will be located in the Whitestown, Indiana region.Major responsibilities

Complete tasks beyond formal job responsibilities

Research, plan and implement Finance Department initiatives including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed

Reviews deliverables of self and team to ensure that they meet client expectations

Give financial reports to executive committee and partners each month

Direct finance department activities, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

Prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, daily cash management

Responsible for month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis

Time monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is punctual

Evaluate, implement and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

Collaborate with executive team and partners to make efficient and effective firm-wide operation possible

Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor on a monthly basis

Requirements - Past work in technology, analytics and management experience highly valued

Able to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds

CPA or MBA preferred

Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity

Self-starter and strong ethical standards

High attention to detail

Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing

BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

Demonstrated ability in exemplary analytical, quantitative and social skills

10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

Accounting experience in publicly-traded company a plus

General familiarity with Ad Hoc Financial Analysis

Practical knowledge of standard costs

Well-founded grasp of financial analysis

Expertise in budget forecasting

Quality experience with job costing

Foundational knowledge in cash management

Proven knowledge of financial reporting

Comprehensive knowledge of month end closings

Epicor experience highly desired

Deep understanding of Business Banking Relationship

Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines
