OverviewThe Nonclinical Testing Associate 1 is responsible for conducting laboratory procedures for nonclinical testing with biological models in compliance with Good Laboratory Practice and other applicable regulations, including surgical and interventional procedures. ResponsibilitiesPerform tasks both in the office and in laboratories according to procedures, study protocols, and applicable regulations (including Good Laboratory Practice); Properly document and organize data generated during the study; Adhere to safety precautions, work procedures, and scientific principles provided by training; Be familiar with surgical supplies and equipment needed for surgical and interventional procedures; Assist with system anesthesia and husbandry; Assist with sterile and non-sterile surgical and interventional procedures; Assist with the use of laboratory equipment (e.g., blood analyzers, fluoroscopy, endoscopy); Assist with or lead specimen collection; Clean and prepare surgical instruments for sterilization; Inventory and order laboratory supplies as needed for studies; Provide clerical and administrative support in preparation of study reports; Maintain certifications, as applicable; Travel as needed; and Exemplify a positive, helpful, team-oriented attitude to prepare, execute, and complete laboratory studies QualificationsAssociate or Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences or equivalent is required, no prior relevant experience required; Certification such as RVT, LAT, or SRA are beneficial; Experience with in vivo models for research and development is preferred; Knowledge of physiology and anatomy is preferred; Ability to handle multiple and changing priorities, with fluctuations in workload, and work independently under general supervision; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Professional, goal-oriented, self-motivated, and responsible; Excellent organizational and time management skills; Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment; and Frequently required to stand for long periods.
