However, must be flexible to meet the needs of the department and complete other projects as assigned.Position Summary:The Biologist will be responsible for performing bioanalytical immunoassays and/or cell based assays to support immunosafety/immunogenicity assessments. The person should be able to apply strong research skills to follow fundamental concepts, practices and procedures using the immunological techniques such as cell culture, ELISA, and flow cytometry. They should have an understand of analyzing data and have excellent communication skills and work on a team.Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform immunoassays and/or cell based assays to support immunosafety/immunogenicity assessments
Follow scientific protocols for the execution of specific immune mediated assays
Use immunological techniques such as cell culture, ELISA and flow cytometry to characterize immune responses to biotherapeutics
Maintain and operate standard laboratory equipment including centrifuges, pipettes, spectrophotometers, ELISA readers, as well as specialized equipment necessary to support the laboratory
Record data in Electronic Lab Notebooks
Knowledge of analyzing data with familiarity to Excel and other analytical techniques
PBMC (Peripheral blood mononuclear cell) manipulation preferred but not essential
Skills & Proficiencies:
Strong analytical thinking skills.
Proven consistent pipetting skills and aseptic technique
Knowledge of scientific research principles, practices and protocols
Ability to understand and follow safety procedures
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Education and Experience:
Degree requirement: Bachelor's Degree in Biology or closely related field
Minimum of zero (0) years of experience in wet biochemistry
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of above.
