More information is available on our website www.waupacafoundry.com Assistant Melt Manager (Manufacturing) ROLE: The Assistant Melt Manager will support the Melt Manager in all of his/her duties and/or be responsible for such in his/her absence. This position requires hour flexibility to support the plant needs.RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist and support the Melt Manager with all of the following duties as well as fulfill these tasks in the absence of the Melt Manager.

Responsible and accountable for communicating the company goals/objectives/priorities to all personnel (salary and hourly) as required.

Responsible and accountable for training and development of personnel.

Responsible and accountable for communicating and enforcing company rules, regulations, and procedures.

Responsible for continuing involvement in safety efforts, safety contacts and prompt accident investigations.

Responsible for the oversight of meeting production tonnage and chemistry requirements while achieving lowest at spout cost

Responsible for assisting in developing long term plans to meet operational efficiencies.

Perform root cause analysis and the implementations of countermeasures when a target is not achieved.

Coordinates with the Supply Chain Team for delivery of raw materials to meet the production tonnage schedule.

Coordinates with the scheduling team to maximize the ability to maintain proper chemistry and the required tonnages.

Assist in the commissioning of and operation of a new electric melt center.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREM ENTS:

Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience in Melt or Melt Maintenance

3 to 5 years specifically in Cupola and Electric Melt

Bachelors, Associates or 2 year Technical degree or actively pursuing

Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a crew

Basic understanding of chemistry control in the melting shop

A working knowledge of ISO/TS standards as necessary

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

Must possess and demonstrate effective oral and written communications skills.

Ability to conduct team meetings, classroom training and presentations.

Must possess and demonstrate leadership ability.

Computer skills including Microsoft programs are a must.
