DescriptionSAIC has an opening for an Electrical Engineer. This is a remote position.Responsibilities:
Perform Electrical Hazard Classification for 57 Crane Army Ammunition Activity (CAAA) buildings of various square footage with the minimum being 280 square feet up to 60,000 square feet.
Shall conduct an Electrical Hazard Classification assessment and document the classifications of each piece of electrical equipment installed within a building, bay, room and/or test cell, to determine the lowest Electrical Hazard Class/Division/Group rating for the documented locations.
The term "hazard classification" is defined in the NEC, NFPA 70, Article 500. These locations are classified according to the hazard presented by electrical equipment installed in environments where flammable gases, or vapors, combustible dusts, or flying’s may exist.
Documentation shall include identification of the operating location, supervisor or custodian; brief history of location; overall location classification; Map of facilities/locations; Individual floor plan and Electrical hazard class worksheet in numeric order.
NFPA 70, NEC, Article 500, (2023 edition) for Hazardous (Classified) Locations, Class I, II, and Divisions 1 and 2.
Delivery of a report is required. The report shall identify all electrical hazards with associated classification for buildings listed in Exhibit A. The report shall contain the following:
Appendix A shall include the explosive operating building numbers and custodians for all buildings surveyed.
Appendix B shall include historical information for all buildings surveyed and a summary spreadsheet of all electrical hazard class inventory for all buildings surveyed.
Appendix C shall include site maps showing relative locations of all building surveyed.
Appendix D shall include the individual floor plans and the electrical hazard class worksheet. Each building shall be separated by room and an individual worksheet shall be included for each room.
QualificationsEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and five (5) years or more related experience.
Electrical Engineering and at least (7) years of related experience or a Master Electrician with at least (15) years experience.
Must be proficient with MS Word and MS Excel.
Must be a US Citizen
Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance

Infrequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts on routine matters.Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000.
