The exact location will be determined at the time of offer based on business needs.Job SummaryThis Senior Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP) will support the Regulated & Renewable Energy (RRE) Midwest Region. They will provide guidance and advice to leadership and employees around all aspects of HR including but not limited to policy and program interpretation and application, employee relations and escalations, labor relations, succession and talent planning, organizational development, goal setting and performance coaching, compensation, engagement, and recognition. They are expected to develop advanced skills and have the ability to work independently, with guidance limited to unusual or complex projects or issues. They are fully competent in use of concepts and procedures. They identify problems, develop solutions, and take actions to resolve. The Senior HR Business Partner builds partnerships across the HR function in order to deliver value-added service to the organization.Responsibilities

Responsible for consulting on many aspects of the HR function, including but not limited to policy and program interpretation and application, employee relations and escalations, labor relations, succession and talent planning, organizational development, goal setting and performance coaching, compensation, engagement, and recognition.

Provides independent consultation on complex issues; is knowledgeable of past internal practices and/or best external practices regarding HR-related business issues.

Analyzes and understands information, past practices, and business objectives to make appropriate recommendations to leadership/assigned customers.

Develops positive working relationships to effectively complete work activities, to provide strong consultation to leadership, and to collaborate with a broad range of customers.

Responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and leadership within RRE Midwest.

Assesses, anticipates, and addresses HR-related needs.

Completes non-routine HR projects with minimal oversight and can independently manage project schedules and interfaces.

Utilizes sound judgment and knowledge of investigative techniques to establish an investigation approach and prepare investigative summaries that document findings.

Supports and coaches leadership on all types of employment matters.

Provides professional and confidential HR advice on potentially sensitive matters

Develops or increases knowledge of the organization, procedures, policies, and customers.

Analyzes and understands information, past practices and business objectives to make appropriate recommendations to leadership/assigned customers.

Develops positive working relationships with peers, customers, employees and management to effectively complete work activities.

Required/Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree

In addition to required degree, three (3) or more years related work experience

In lieu of bachelor’s degree(s) AND three (3) or more years related work experience listed above, high school diploma/GED AND seven (7) or more years related work experience

Preferred Qualifications

More than five (5) years of HR related experience working as an HR generalist

Experience working with craft teammates as well as senior leadership

Experience working with unions

Experience in employee relations

Experience as an HR professional in a plant environment

Working knowledge of employment/labor laws

Master’s degree in human resources or human resources management experience in employee relations

Undergraduate degree in human resources or human resource management

Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR)/Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or SHRM-SCP/SHRM-CP certification

Strong written and oral communication skills

Ability to deal effectively with all levels of employees and management

Proficient in Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Ability to work well independently and as part of a team

Ability to handle and manage confidential information

Ability to work under time constraints and associated pressures

Ability to work occasional irregular hours to meet 24/7 business needs

Working Conditions

Office and power plant environment

May be required to travel to other locations in the Midwest as needed

Occasional travel to Charlotte, NC may also be required

Field mobility classification – work will be performed in various field locations, as needed, after the onboarding period. However, field employees are required to live within a reasonable daily commute to their assigned work location
