About Harmonie State Park:Harmonie State Park is located near the historic New Harmony Utopian Communities of 1814 and 1825. This 6,000-acre park has 200 campsites and 11 cabins. The park offers scenic ravines, boating, camping, fishing, and bridle trails. Role Overview: The Maintenance Repair 3 at Harmonie State Park is responsible for the comprehensive upkeep and maintenance of the park's diverse facilities and natural areas. This role requires a versatile skill set to manage the following key areas:
Campground Maintenance: Oversee the upkeep of 200 campsites, ensuring they are clean, safe, and fully functional for visitors.
Facility Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance and repairs on restroom facilities, office buildings, and shop buildings, family cabins, and nature centers.
Trail Maintenance: Maintain and repair several miles of horse, mountain bike, and hiking trails, including tasks such as repairing wood structures, adding water bars, and installing trail signage and information panels.
Wastewater Treatment Plant: Assist in the operation and maintenance of the park's wastewater treatment facility.
General Repairs: Conduct various repair tasks across the property, including but not limited to plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, mechanical, and grounds maintenance.
Natural Resource Management:
Participate in invasive species removal programs
Assist with hazard tree identification and removal
Contribute to tree-planting initiatives
Support habitat restoration and remediation projects
Prescribed Fire Operations: Be comfortable with and assist in prescribed fire activities, including preparation, execution, and post-fire monitoring.
Customer Service: Interact professionally with park visitors, providing assistance and information as needed.
This position will be required to work rotating weekends throughout the year.
May be required to work overtime as necessary.
Desirable candidates will possess a blend of versatile technical skills, adaptability and problem-solving skills, as well as good interpersonal relationship skills.
Salary Statement:
The salary for this position traditionally starts at $31,668.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.
A Day in the Life: The essential functions of this roles are as follows:
Make routine carpentry, plumbing and electrical repairs.
Check heating, air conditioning, kitchen, laundry, and maintenance equipment for efficiency and make necessary repairs.
Install curtain rods, toilet paper and toothbrush holders, tile, screens, window glass, doors, wiring and conduits, plumbing fixtures, and other varied items.
Check and repair electrical appliances, motors, pumps, fire alarm systems, thermostats, doorbells, and buzzers.
Repair locks, make keys and provide secure facility and property.
Assist a skilled trades person on major projects.

Working knowledge of, and ability to use skills in, carpentry, masonry, plumbing and electrical repairs .
Ability to read and follow instructions and to handle simple mathematical problems per the mentioned duties above.
Ability to determine malfunctions of electrical and mechanical equipment and make simple repairs.
Ability to read blueprints and understand schematics.
Ability to set tile, finish concrete and plaster and to do tuck pointing.
Be willing to travel with reasonable accommodation.
Ability to use a wide variety of hand and power tools.
You must satisfy the following requirements to continue employment:
Must possess a valid commercial driver's license (CDL) or must obtain within 90 days of employment.
