Robert Half has an job opening for a candidate to support a department as an Accounting Clerk. This opportunity is with a company in the Retail industry. The Accounting Clerk responsibilities will include matching invoices to purchase orders/ vouchers, data entry, and assisting with Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R). This is a short-term contract / temporary employment based in the New Albany, Indiana area.Your responsibilities in this role
Contribute to Accounts Receivable: process daily invoices/credit, apply cash receipt, and help with collection of past due balance
Codify documents that require knowledge in determining proper classification of accounting codes and expenditure codes
Post financial figures to journals and ledgers
Assist Accounts Payable: A/P invoice matching & filing, vendor invoices and disbursement filing
Compose statements and reports that require utilization of a variety of sources
Mend discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts; prepare correction documents as required
Overall accounting: help with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, other ad hoc projects
QUICKBOOKS DESKTOP IS REQUIREDRequirements
AA or BS/BA in Accounting or related field preferred
Experience with high volume data entry
Ability to multitask effectively
Candidates with Spreadsheet and ERP system experience will be prioritized
QuickBooks experience desired
Command of Accounts Payable (AP)
Deep understanding of bank reconciliations
