Machine Shop seeks high school graduates with a good attendance record & basic math skills that have the ability to learn how to set up and operate lathes, mills and other machine tools.
The production job shop supplies various finished machined make-to-print parts for OEM and/or aftermarket industries. New hires should have the ability to read prints, assemble fixtures, organize tools, change chuck jaws and arbors etc. Personnel are expected to run production based on a standard PCs./hr. Both CNC, conventional and custom machines are utilized to meet customer order requirements.
Starting Wage: $20.00 per hour ($0.40 3rd shift premium).
Job Title: Machinist/Machine operator - 3rd shift Sunday eve. to Friday morning (10:30 PM – 7:00 AM.) scheduled 40-50 hours per week. Previous experience in a machine shop or vocational training is helpful. A physical examination that includes an 80 pound lift test and a drug screen is required.
Job Task Description: Applicant must have the ability to learn to operate CNC & non-CNC machines and eventually learn how to set up. Cast material is loaded into a machine tool and clamped after the machine is actuated. After the machine finishes its machine cycle, the part is removed so that the fixture can be prepped for another part to be inserted. The responsible operator(s) must check the part dimensions with measuring equipment which includes various types of micrometers, dial indicator gauges and a CMM.
